Mehryl Levisse

Mehryl LEVISSE Born in 1985 in Charleville-Mézières. Lives and works in Charleville-Mézières, Paris and Casablanca.
Graduate of a Master in Theory and Practice of Contemporary Art and New Media.
Mehryl Levisse explores boundaries, sociological issues and archetypal representations of the body, through mediums such as photography, installation or performative practices.
Represented by Catinca Tabacaru Gallery, New York.
State Fair, installation in situ: wallpaper on a blue back glued directly on the walls, framed photographic recordings (variable dimensions).

I propose to make a wallpaper that will cover all the walls of the exhibition space. On this wallpaper, I propose to present framed photographic recordings. A dialogue will take place between the content of the photo and the wallpaper creating doubt in the viewer "where does the photo begin and end? ", It can continue outside the frame via the repetition of the pattern on the wallpaper. My artistic practice has started and is mainly focused on photographic staging. My photo captures are made from scratch in my workshop building element after element of environments designed by and for the body.
